Mumbai, May 25 (Thursday. 10-00 pm): Gold jewellery worth nearly Rs 30 lac was robbed in a heist at a jewellery shop at Sewri on Thursday morning, the police said.

According to the police, six to seven persons armed with country-made pistols and choppers entered a jewellery shop located at Tokarsi Jeevaji Marg in Sewri this morning, when the owner of the shop was arranging the jewellery in the showcase.

Brandishing weapons, they removed all the jewellery and escaped, the police said, adding that the owner claimed that the stolen jewellery weighed over three kg and was worth nearly Rs 30 lac.
