Congress-BJP's unholy nexus alarming: Mamata

Kolkata, Feb 21 (IANS): Accusing the Congress and the BJP of working in tandem to pass the "so called" Telangana bill, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the "unholy nexus" was an alarming signal for the country.

"The 'so-called' passing of the Telengana bill in the Lok Sabha for creation of a new state has been unconstitutional, undemocratic, unethical and illegal. This illegally 'so-called' passed bill was then placed in Rajya Sabha and 'so-called' passed.

"I am astonished to see how the syndicate of Congress and BJP worked in tandem to fulfill their own political agenda," Banerjee said on Facebook, referring to the passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill approving separate statehood for Telangana.

"What will be the future of the country if two political parties connive in this way to manipulate important legislations affecting states without taking the states into confidence? They are taking decisions unilaterally when election is knocking at the door.

"This unholy nexus is indeed an alarming signal for the country," added Banerjee.
