Mumbai: National Kannada Education Society celebrates platinum jubilee

Mumbai, Mar 4: National Kannada Education Society celebrated their platinum jubilee on Saturday evening, March 1 at Shanmakhananda Chandrashekarendra Saraswathi hall at Sion Kings circle.

Justice B N Srikrishna was the chief guest.  V R Sudarshan, former Karnataka assembly speaker, Sion east MLA Jagannath K Shetty, Vasanth Salian, old student of the institute and former minister, Bharath Bank managing director Jaya C Suvarna and Dr  D Venkatesh had arrived as guests of honor.

Dr H S Srinivasa, president of the society, honorary secretary B S Suresh and Dr Y D Venkatesh present on the occasion released a book on history of the society titled 'Imprints on the time'.  V R Sudarshan released a souvenir. Former president, office bearers, members, teachers and achievers were felicitated on the occasion.

The programme started with a prayer by old students.  Present students sang a welcome song.  Dr H S Srinivas welcomed the gathering.  Pandith Vidyashree Seema compered the programme.  Honorary secretary B S Suresh proposed vote of thanks. 

Old and present students of the society presented dance and other cultural programmes.
