Udupi, Mar 28: “In the forthcoming Udupi Lok Sabha election, neither BJP nor Congress will get majority as per the surveys published in the newspapers. In Udupi, people are favoring the regional parties like JD(S). Deve Gowda had the notion of the Third Front from 1996. During those times, in the state, JD(S) won 16 seats. In the state, out of 28 seats BJP will secure 20 seats. JD(S) coalition with SDPI will secure 8 constituencies,” said B Dhanajay Kumar.
He was addressing the press on Thursday March 27. Kumar also said, “The Congress government has failed to implement the Gorakh Singh Report but we will provide facilities. In the district, comparatively, the JD(S) candidate has more experience in politics. There is also an environment conducive to the JD(S). People prefer the regional parities.”
Taking a dig at C T Ravi, Kumar said, “When I joined politics, he was not even born.”
Abdul Rehman, president of SDPI, said, “In Kaup Vidhana Sabha constituency, JD(S) has won in 13 places. People are expecting a political change.”
