Dr Abdul Kalam to interact with SMVITM students on Apr 2

Udupi, Mar 30: Ex-President, a distinguished scientist who advocated plans to develop India into a developed nation by 2020, Bharat Ratna Dr A P J Abdul Kalam will visit Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi,engineering institution on Wednesday April 2 at 12.15 noon.

He will address and interact with the faculty, staff and students of SMVITM and ignite the young minds for national development. His focus will be on transforming India into a developed nation by 2020 and his accent is on constructive networking and excellent human resources for an economically developed, prosperous and peaceful society.

Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Shree Sode Vadiraja Mutt, Udupi will preside over. To commemorate his visit, Dr Abdul Kalam will be declaring open the three new academic blocks in the campus, recently constructed.

Dr Kalam admired the objective of SMVITM, Bantakal to provide holistic, value based education in the field of engineering to the students of the rural belt at affordable costs.

The programme will be held at the institute premises (Open Air Theatre, behind the main Admin. Block) on April 2 from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm.
