Mysore, Jun 12: The silver jubilee celebrations of the Konkani Christian Association, Mysore promised a memorable day to those who participated it. The daylong festivities were indeed cherished by all and were sure to leave an indelible mark of pleasant memories on their minds.



At the Infant Jesus Shrine, Pushpashram, Mysore, Bangalore Archbishop Emeritus Fr Ignatius Pinto celebrated the Holy Eucharist at the solemn liturgical ceremony in the morning. In the evening, enjoyment with dance and music knew no bounds.

A gala show at Kala Mandir began at 4.30 pm with ‘Sobhann Sanz’ with Eric Ozario’s Mand Sobhann troupe playing the role of an ace entertainer.



At the formal stage programme, president of the association Gracian Rodrigues welcomed all. Secretary John William D’Souza read the annual report. Chief guest Arch Bishop Emeritus Dr Ignatius Pinto released the silver jubilee souvenir edited by Antony Lasrado.

On the occasion, the association honoured Eric Ozario, Edward Nazareth, Fr John Texeira and Inspector Babu Norohna. All those who served the association as presidents and secretaries were also honoured.



Sixteen foot-tapping Konkani numbers were performed by Eric’s troupe, which comprised of Zeena Periera, Prakash D'Souza, Mohammed Iqbal, Shama and others.




The dancers of Naach Sobhann adorned the stage with their graceful movements to the tunes of the Konkani numbers, while Wilson D'Souza, Blasius Montiero, Divya D'Souza and Nellu Permanoor formed a team to make everyone laugh to their guts with their jokes.
