Udupi: Man from Shimoga ends life in city lodge

Udupi, Apr 2: A resident from Shimoga, who had hired a room located by the side of the service bus stand here, ended his life by hanging himself in the lodge room. He has been identified as Praveen Kumar from Lashkar Mohalla in Shimoga.

Kumar had hired room on March 27. On Monday March 31 morning, he did not open the door of the room, even after the hotel staff knocked at the door and called him to open the door. The employees then peeped through the window, and found the man hanging from the ceiling fan in the room. He had used the dhoti he was wearing, for making a noose.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the lodge management, a case was registered in town police station here. Investigation has been taken up.
