Udupi: ICYM holds Kreedotsava at Milagres College

Udupi, Apr 4 : ICYM Milagres Cathedral unit organized the Kallianpur deanery level  ICYM 'Kreedotsava – 2014' held at Milagres College ground, Kallianpur here on Sunday April 6.

Fr Stany B Lobo rector of Milagres Cathedral and vicar forane  of Kallianpur Deanery; Fr Fredrick D’souza spiritual director of ICYM Kallianpur deanery; Ivan D’Silva president of ICYM, Diocese of Udupi; Lester Pais president of ICYM Kallanpur Deanery; Fr Mahesh D’Souza convener of ICYM Milagres unit; Prof Hilda Rodrigues secretary of Milagres Cathedral Pastoral Council and others were present during the inaugural ceremony.

Fr Stany B Lobo lit the Olympic torch fire and inaugurated the Kridothsava . During the occasion Prof Hilda Rodrigues said that defeat is the foundation stone for success. Fr Fredrick D’Souza pointed out during his address that sports indeed is the source of humanity and personal development. During his address Fr Stany B Lobo said that sports is life. He was all praise for the Milagres unit for organizing the events.

Earlier Clinton D’Silva president of Milagres Cathedral unit welcomed the gathering and Supritha Cardin proposed vote of thanks. Melitta D’Souza compered the program. Prizes were distributed by Fr Mahesh D’souza, Lester Pais and Waylon Machado secretary of ICYM Udupi Diocese for the winners of the events. Throw ball, cricket, volleyball, Tug of war for ladies and gents and other games were conducted. More than two hundred members of ICYM participated during the event .

Kolalgiri Church ICYM unit won the overall champions trophy while Mount Rosary Church unit were declared 'overall runners'. The champions trophy was handed over by Fr Mahesh D’souza  main architect of Kreedotsava during the valedictory function.
