Beltangady, Jun 19: A newly married woman from Aladangady near here has gone missing recently from her parental house.  However, sources said that she has eloped with her lover.  The latest report said that the woman and her lover have been traced in Koppa by police.  However, this news is yet to be confirmed by the family members.

Shammi (22), daughter of Narayan Shetty and Sharada couple of Senerebail near Aladangady here had recently been given in marriage to a young man from a nearby village.  Her parents had given 17 sovereigns of gold and Rs 1, 80,000 lac in cash as dowry during marriage.

However, Shammi who came to her parental house a few days later suddenly went missing.  She had come to her parental house a few days earlier.  Thereafter she left her house saying that she is going back to her husband's house.  However, she never went.

Meanwhile one Jayanand (29), son of Guruvappa of Senerebail too went missing from the day Shammi went missing. This gave rise to suspicion that the couple might have eloped together.  It is said that both of them had an affair for sometime.  However, their castes were different.  While Shammi hails from Bunt caste, Jayanand is a dalit.  So her parents said to have refused for their marriage.

But now it said that both of them have eloped together.  Jayanand's going missing too has confirmed this.  Meanwhile, a late report said that the couple has been traced in Koppa.  But nothing has yet been confirmed either by parents or police.
