Dubai, Jun 20: `Beary’ is a Muslim ethnic group originated from the coastal parts of the state of Karnataka in India. Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) was formed in the United Arab Emirates under the auspices of Dubai Indian Islamic Centre, UAE. BCF’s main objective is to promote, educate and create social, cultural and educational awareness amongst the Bearys in the UAE & India. The BCF conducts regularly cultural, sports, talent search, educational activities, Iftar Party, etc. every year. Last year, BCF provided scholarship to 4 students for pursuing their studies in medicines, engineering etc.
During the 3rd Annual General Meeting held on 2nd June, 2006 at the President Hotel, Dubai, the under-mentioned Central Executive Managing Committee members were elected besides the Unit Coordinators and the Executive members.

Dr. B.K. Yusuf has been an efficient President of the BCF and under his leadership, the BCF has been growing by leaps and bounds. BCF has a vision to assist the Bearys in the UAE and other parts of the world for the purpose of promoting education and act as a help desk in building up the career of the Bearys. Besides, the aforesaid Managing Committee members, there are Executive Members, Unit Committees and the Bearys Relief Board.
Dr. Yusuf stated “the BCF will commit to provide its fullest support to the development of the Bearys and I am sure Bearys are recognized throughout UAE.” Dr. Kaup, General Secretary stated, “Bearys should cross the educational boundaries and represent as a part of the learned arena.” Zafarullah Khan, Managing Director of the Zain International Group of Hotels, hailing from Mandya District of Karnataka, has been nominated as the Chief Advisor of Bearys Cultural Forum who has dedicated to provide fullest support to the development of the Bearys.
BCF introduced Unit system in its operations whereby each Emirate had their independent Unit committee reporting to the central executive committee. For the first time, in order to develop the bearys in the United Arab Emirates, Bearys Cultural Forum constituted Bearys Welfare Board (BRB), UAE to work under the patronage of the BCF, UAE. The BRB UAE was created in order to provide social security help to the bearys in case of any kinds of trouble which included assistance in case anybody hospitalized, death cases, loss of job, placement and career services, etc. to the best of the abilities of the BRB UAE and subject to the availability of funds.
