New Delhi, Jun 20: After interrogating several junior medicos for nearly a week, Delhi police on Tuesday quizzed three senior doctors of the Apollo hospital, who attended to Rahul Mahajan, in connection with the high-profile drug abuse case.

Internal medicine specialist Prasad Rao, who headed the five-member team, hospital's director of medical services Anupam Sibal and Mukund Pandey were quizzed in detail about the line of treatment given to Rahul, police sources said.

The sources said "police want to know whether Rahul's condition at the time of his admission in the hospital in the wee hours of June two warranted ventilator support and why was he kept in the ICU for over four days."

They are also seeking detailed answers on the various medical tests conducted on Rahul, his condition during his stay in the ICU and the type of food he had during the period.

Investigators had earlier claimed they have established that "the vital parameters of Rahul at the time of his admission did not warrant ventilator support and it was done at the behest of the hospital top brass."

They are planning to interrogate all employees involved, directly or indirectly, in providing treatment to Mahajan junior and have so far quizzed over 25 doctors and staffers employees out of the nearly 50-odd summoned by them.

An FIR was registered against Apollo on June nine for giving false information to police officials in the case, a day after a city court directed it to take action against the premier private hospital.
