Mangalore, May 7: Sridhar, a native of Bakimar in Malali near here committed suicide at the house of his relative at Kadman on Monday May 5. No one was around when Sridhar decided to end his life, it is said.
Sridhar’s wife, who had been to her parental home for delivery, was to return to her husband’s home with her child in two days along with the newborn. The child’s naming ceremony was to be held at Sridhar’s home on Wednesday. For unexplained reasons, Sridhar chose this period to commit suicide.
On Monday, Sridhar had visited his relative at Kadman village. No one was around when he reached there. When the wife of his relative reached home in the evening and went inside, she saw the lifeless body of Sridhar hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen.
Sridhar had married a girl from Puttur last year, and his wife had given birth to a child recently. It is guessed that Sridhar was facing financial crunch. His sister had also committed suicide sometime back. A report in this respect was filed in Bajpe police station.
