AL AIN, Jun 30: — Rain coupled with a thunderstorm hit Al Ain on Wednesday, sending the mercury plummeting much to the delight of residents who thronged parks and gardens. The deluge which began late in the afternoon lasted well into the evening.

A meteorological department official told Khaleej Times that the rainy spell was expected to continue for some more days. After the rain, the mercury dropped to a pleasant 29 degrees Celsius but the humidity rose to 80 per cent.

The official has forecast generally cloudy weather with the possibility of rains towards the evenings. For Friday, the weatherman has forecast a clear sky with the temperature likely to hover around 38 degrees celsius.
