M'lore: Threat to traffic police; Judicial custody for accused

Mangalore, May 19: Rajesh, a traffic police, who was on duty at the Karavali Circle in Kankandy was reportedly attacked and abused by Rajashekar aka Yekkur Raja aka Bend Raja (42), a resident of Jeppinamogaru, on Friday May 16 night.

The accused has been arrested by the Kadri police and remanded judicial custody.

The accused Rajesh, who came in a black Tata Indica, stopped his car in the middle of Karavali Circle. The traffic police Rajesh was on duty at the time of the incident, reportedly asked Raja to move his car forward, as he was blocking the traffic. It is learnt that Raja, in anger got off the car and tried to assault Rajesh; verbally abused him and also posed a life threat.
