Udupi: Cricket pitch inaugurated at Silas International School

Udupi, May 19: The inauguration ceremony of a newly built cricket pitch at Silas International School was held on Monday May 19 here in the city.

The inauguration conducted by Padmashree Syed Kirmani, ex-Indian wicket keeper.


In his inaugural speech, Syed Kirmani said, "Students are today's era and tomorrow’s future. Each one of us is blessed with talents and hardwork is important to become a successful person. Learning good habits is necessary to be a good human being."

"Cricket was called the gentleman's game and was also a way of my  life. Take care of oneself and introspect; valuate, analyze yourselves with regard to the aims in life, only then can we attain our aims and objectives," he added.

He said, "Each one of us has to have a far sighted vision to meet our aspirations."

Stressing on the fact that cricket is a way of life he spoke of few memories he had during his cricketing career.

R S Maben, president of Crystal Education Trust presided over the progam.

Dr Krishna Prasad, president of UDCA, Ganesh Kamath, Prabhakar and others were also present on the ocasion

Deirdra S Maben, principal welcomed the gathering, while Shyam Sunoler Rao delivered the vote of thanks. Sunil Wilfred compeered the ceremony.
