Chinese walking festival attracts 15,000 people


Beijing, May 24 (IANS): A city in China Saturday inaugrated an international walking festival which has attracted at least 15,000 people, a media report said.

The festival took place in the city of Qinhuangdao in northern China and has particpants from the US, Japan, Rwanda and Pakistan, Xinhua reported.

The walking festival was launched in 2005 and it takes place every year. It features three events: five km, 10 km and 20 km.
