Mangalore, Jul 7: The death of 42 year-old Khalid owing to the negligence of the staff of a well-known hospital here, resulted in pelting of stones at the hospital, by an angry mob on Thursday July 6.
According to the police, Khalid who was traveling in a bus to reach his work place, missed his footing while alighting from the bus, and fell down on the road.
Khalid who suffered serious internal injuries, was rushed to the hospital at 8 am. However, his relatives informed the police that Khalid was not attended to until 2 pm. He then breathed his last at 4 pm. This led to violent protests by the mob, who pelted stones at the hospital. However, timely action by the police prevented further violence.
The Kankanady police have registered a case.
