Jeddah, May 30 (Emirates 247) : Three hundred and seven Saudi women have filed court cases against their father over the past seven months because they refused to let them marry.
The women told courts that their fathers refused their marriage to men they favored under the excuse they are not qualified husbands.
The capital Riyadh recorded the largest number of such cases, standing at 76, followed by the Gulf Kingdom’s second largest city of Jeddah, with 71 cases.
The Arabic language daily Al Hayat quoted justice ministry data but did not give details of those cases.
