Two teenagers crushed to death in Jammu


Jammu, May 31 (IANS): Two teenagers were crushed to death by a speeding vehicle in winter capital Jammu Saturday.

Police said two teenagers were crushed to death when the two-wheeler they were riding was over run by a speeding vehicle in Jammu City during the wee hours of Saturday morning.

"Two teenagers identified as Saurab Kumar Bali, 19, and Aman Bali, 16, were crushed when the Scooty two-wheeler they were riding was crushed by a speeding vehicle on the highway in Gandhi Nagar area near Hotel Asia in the city.

"The incident occurred around 2 a.m. today morning. Both the teenagers were taken to hospital where doctors said they were brought dead.

"Both the victims were brothers. We have launched a manhunt to nab the vehicle responsible for the tragedy. The driver has fled from the scene of occurrence along with the vehicle", a senior police officer told IANS.

A pall of gloom descended on the entire Gandhi Nagar residential and commercial area in the city when the news about the accident spread there. The parents of the deceased teens live in this area.
