Mumbai, June 3: "I am satisfied with voluntary contributions and social service. We will be content in life if we remember our hardships in the past regardless of our present status. We have been continuing in life being service oriented and on those principles hoping our brethren to be like us," N T Poojary, president of Billawa Jagruthi Balaga, Mumbai and Billawa Samaja Sangha, Kundapur.

N T Poojary was speaking after participating in an annual free mass wedding ceremony for the community held by Billawa Samaja Sangha, Kundapur at the newly constructed Sri Narayanaguru air conditioned Hall on Sunday June 1.


Suresh S Poojary, former president of Billawa Jagruthi Balaga, Mumbai lit the traditional lamp and set the programme in motion. N T Poojary and Yashodha N Poojary presented the mangalsutras, sarees, toe rings, kurthas, pyjamas, peta and basinga to six couples who got married in the programme.

Byndoor MP K Gopala Poojary, former MP B Appanna Hegde, Kundapur town muncipality president Kalavathi U S, Kundapur taluk panchayat members Poornima G Poojary, Mahendra Poojary, Manjayya Shetty Alooru, Congress leaders Malyadi Shivarama Shetty, Raju Devadiga, U S Shenoy and other dignitaries present on the occasion congratulated the newly married couples.

Heads of members of Billawa Jagruthi Balaga Mumbai, Sri Narayana Guru Yuvaka Mandala Kundapura, Billawa Samaja Seva Sangha Kundapura, Sri Narayana Guru Education and Cultural Committee, Kundapur and others participated in the programme and congratulated the couples who got married as part of the programme.
