Daijiworld News Network - Udupi / Mangalore (MB)

Udupi, Jul 12: Israel Jayaprakash Soans (51), hailing from Udupi and working as officer with Action Aid, an NGO in Mumbai, died in the train blast on Tuesday while on his way home to Vasai.

His son too was travelling with him but was providentially saved, having got down from the train a while earlier.

Jayaprakash Soans worked as an officer with Action Aid, an NGO. He had recently been transferred to Bangalore.

He was also an active church member, a talented musician and an artiste, who played violin, guitar and mandolin.

He was in his hometown, Udupi, only three days earlier on the occasion of his mother's 91st birthday. Cruel fate snatched him away while he was returning home from work on Tuesday around 6-30 pm.

He is survived by wife Jennifer, and two sons Jovi and Jocelin.
