Shaktikanta Das appointed revenue secretary


New Delhi, June 16 (IANS): Shaktikanta Das, a 1980 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, will be the new revenue secretary, replacing Rajiv Takru, the government announced Monday.

Das, who is currently fertilizers secretary in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, will assume charge as revenue secretary in the finance ministry on relinquishing charge of the post by Takru. 

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the new appointment. 

Takru, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre will move as secretary in the ministry of development of north eastern region. 

Chemicals and petrochemicals secretary Indrajit Pal will hold additional charge of fertilisers department, according to an official statement released by the ministry of personnel.
