Modi presented first BRICS university ranking


New Delhi, June 17 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi was Tuesday presented a copy of the first ranking of the top 100 universities of BRICS member nations Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The "QS BRICS 2014" ranking was presented by Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani in the presence of Mohandas Pai, chairman of the Indian Centre for Assessment and Accreditation, an official release said.

The listing seeks to highlight the strengths and achievements of the higher education system in these five emerging economies to facilitate a comparison of their universities.
