Govt to present its first Union Budget on Jul 10, Railway Budget on Jul 8

New Delhi, Jun 23 (HT) : The Budget session of Parliament will be held from July 7 to August 14 and the first General Budget of the Narendra Modi government will be presented on July 10.

The Rail Budget will be presented on July 8, while the Economic Survey will be released on July 9, the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) decided on Monday at a meeting held in parliamentary affairs minister M Venkaiah Naidu's chamber in Parliament House.

The CCPA, headed by home minister Rajnath Singh, decided that bills to replace ordinances, including the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities (Amendment) Ordinance, the one on Polavaram project, the TRAI Act (Amendment) Ordinance and the one on SEBI, will be brought on a priority basis for consideration in the session, official sources said.

The ordinances have to be converted into bills before third week of July.

The over month-long session will have a total of 28 sittings.

The vote-on-account budget approved by the previous Parliament ends on July 31 and a new budget has to be in place before that date.

The opposition is likely to rake up the issue of hike in rail passenger fares and freight rates ahead of the presentation of the Rail Budget.

Naidu had recently said that the election of Deputy Speaker will take place during the Budget session.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has already said that she would take a decision on the issue of the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha before the Budget session.

Congress, which lacks the requisite numbers, is seeking the post claiming that it is the single largest party in the opposition benches and its pre-poll alliance -- UPA -- has together more than the adequate numbers to claim the post.

India's previous government presented an interim budget for 2014/15 to Parliament on Feb. 17, ahead of national elections to cover expenditure until a new administration was installed.

Here no one talks about the corruption and scams made by Ullu Laalu which touches about 20,000 cr year ending 2013. Congis has looted so much that the present government is finding difficulties in continuing railway. The question is not about hike, the question is does people want the railway to run or no.

Sh Ismail, frustration is creeping into you & you're showing high stress levels...Please relax! Sugar prices won't hit the sky, it could be a 70 paise hike...Also when the budgets are being prepared , Modi & team would do every needful to protect the middle class which was BJP's fodder in last elections..He is too shrwed & cunning to let go off a 31% vote share while elections are on the anvil in Haryana & Maharashtra where in NDA has a clear & definitive edge over Congress! So relax, please wait the good times would rool out after all.....The looting effect of UPA needs some respite after all...

Instead of showing frustrations here, your and your party should work hard for Maharashtra assemble elections which is due by December.

Otherwise you may lose OPPOSITION POST there also.

In a poor country, Grocer A sells goods at a profit of 5% while Grocer B sells at the profit of 14%.
Grocer B makes a huge profit and then starts giving freebies like brush, comb, pen and pencil.
Spot the GENUINE grocer. Press Agree if A is genuine or press Disagree if B is genuine…

30% for NDA, But how did you decided 70% against?!!! Voting percentage was 65-70% only! Out of 70% NDA got more than 30% vote share where as all other parties of UPA & so called 3rd front...4th front together got balance votes! whoever not voted you may argue they are against, but same with me that can argue that they would have voted for NDA if reached a voting booth! So just go bythe mandate in number of MPs won which shows NDA...for that matter BJP is having a majority mandate which is not FULL (which is impossible in democratic system!)

    MPD
    To make the statistics clear:
    Total electorate : 814.5 million
    Total voted: 541.5 million
    BJP votes: 171,459,286
    % of total votes 31%
    Congress votes: 106,760,001
    % of total votes: 19.3%

Hence, it is not 66%-31% but 31% of total votes polled. Hence, to say that BJP was rejected by 69% of the electorate is correct.

The way Congress looted the country, I'll not be surprised that Modi Sarkaar would bring fiscal discipline by increasing the tax slabs as also increase marginally (say 5%-10%) on fuel & gas prices. Other luxury items may be taxed too...mandatory items like cigarettes & foreign liquor. In order to bring some sanity to the extreme looting that has happended in last 10 years , people of India (including the 69%) who did not vote for good times may have to suffer bad times for a little longer than expected...

As FAKE Jeevan commented earlier, the budget will be indutrialist friendly. It will be a boost for our economy.
Ofcourse it will be bitter, somehow we have to pay a little for the blunders of UPA. I think 2015 budjet will be a surplus one. we all need to bear with Modi Govt's decisions for the time being.
Definitely we will have better days in a years time. Meanwhile if we get back Congi leaders assets from Swiss banks, it will be another boost to indian economy.

Once rupee starts gaining, there will be many for FAKEs here commenting in the name of Jeevan and Dinesh!

Unpopular decisions could be ahead which may average persons and rupee value could be 58-55 range/ a dollar. But taking in to consideration BPL and semi APL Modi might compelled to soft on poor as exception was high during election time. Some are how,Modi himself put cold water for all exceptions and if he touches Diesel,LPG and railway(portion of the hike could be rolled back)then inflation, price hike for FMCG may skyrocketing. In the event of above harsh measures certainly,BJP will loss momentum in coming elections. Here important issue was 1)Modi's Acche din 2)Sab ki saath ..Sab Ki Vikas!!!!Is that two slogans fulfilled if so who's TATA- BIRLA -AMBANI -ADHANI?Why Modi and BJP fooled the voters? After all Modi has 30% support and 70% are voters are against to him.
