Car hits police vehicle, four injured


Gurgaon, June 27 (IANS): Four people, including three policemen, sustained injuries when a speeding car rammed into a police gypsy here Friday, officials said.

Besides the policemen, the driver of the car, who was allegedly drunk, was injured in the accident that took place at around 2 a.m. near Sector 54. 

The car driver was identified as Vishal Mudgil, 34, an engineer working with an IT company here, police said. Mudgil, who lives here, was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The injured policemen - assistant sub-inspector Ratanlal, constables Ashok Kumar and Ramesh Kumar - were admitted to a hospital. One of the policemen's condition was stated to be critical.

"The driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol and tried to flee the spot...," a police officer said, adding that Mudgil would be arrested once he was discharged from hospital.
