Mangalore, Jul 26: The federation of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project Chelair-Madya units and grama seva sangha organized muddy field race at Madya near Suratkal here on Sunday July 24.  The race was held in the muddy field of award winning agriculturist Sridhar Shetty of Madya.

Various competitions such as muddy field race for men, women, boys and girls, tug-of-war competition for men and women etc were held.  A lot of locals participated enthusiastically in the event.

The competitions were inaugurated by MRPL-ONGC deputy manager Santhosh Kumar Kadri on Sunday morning.  Jaycee zonal president Chittaranjan Shetty, Y Sukumar, Suratkal Jaycee Shreesha Kumaran, P K Purushottam of SKDRDP and others were present on the occasion.

Jaycee former president Gunavati Ramesh welcomed the gathering while Shreesha Kumaran compered the programme.  A special get-to-gether and agape was held on the occasion.

Noted businessman Rajaram Salian, TP member Vajrakshi P Shetty and Suratkal Agricultural Service Cooperative Bank deputy chairman Ashok Shetty distributed prizes at the valedictory ceremony.
