Four killed in Karachi violence


Islamabad, July 2 (IANS): At least four people were killed in different firing and violent incidents across Karachi, media reports Wednesday said.

Two people were shot dead in alleged police firing, Geo News reported.

Police, however, said two persons were gunned down in separate firing incidents that took place in Lyari and Frontier Colony areas of Metroville. Another man was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire in Malir.

A spokesman for the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ), a banned Pakistani religious organisation, said that the deceased, who was identified as Habibullah, was their party worker.

In another incident, the body of a woman was found from a house near Kala Pul area. The deceased woman was strangled to death, the report said.
