Australian firm to set up iron ore pellets units in Telangana


Hyderabad, July 2 (IANS): An Australian firm has come forward to set up iron ore pellets units in Telangana with an initial investment of Rs.1,000 crore.

SSL Consolidate will set up the units in Karimnagar and Siddipet, an official statement said after company officials called on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao here Wednesday.

The company sought all assistance from the state government for starting the operations. Rao assured all support.

The chief minister briefed the delegation about the steps being taken by his government to promote industrialisation. He said the industrial policy would be transparent and investor-friendly.

Under the first phase, the Australian firm will establish a unit in Karimnagar. The second unit will come up in Siddipet.

"The two units together will provide employment to 1,000 people," said a statement from the Chief Minister's Office.
