Palestinians prepare to bury teenager killed in Jerusalem

Jerusalem, July 3 (IANS): Palestinians are preparing for the funeral of a teenager abducted and murdered in Jerusalem, media reported Thursday.

The killing of 17-year-old Palestine national Mohammed Abu Khdair Wednesday sparked fierce clashes amid claims it was in revenge for the killing of three Israeli youths, BBC reported.

The killing was condemned by both Israeli and Palestinian leaders.

Meanwhile Palestinian militants in Gaza fired several rockets at Israel. Israel responded with a series of air strikes on the territory early Thursday.

Militants fired 20 mortars and rockets, Israeli officials said.

"The Israeli Air Force attacked 15 terror sites in Gaza early Thursday morning," an Israel Defence Forces official was quoted as saying.

"The targets included weapons manufacturing sites as well as training facilities," the official added.
