Congress reconstitutes Sikkim unit


New Delhi, July 5 (IANS): Congress president Sonia Gandhi Saturday reconstituted the Sikkim unit by appointing 10 new vice presidents, her office said.

"Sonia Gandhi has appointed 10 people as vice president for Pradesh Congress Committee in Sikkim. They are M.D. Joshi, L.M. Subba, D.B. Karki, M.B. Rai, Dorjee Wangdi Bhutia, Topden Lepcha, K.B. Rai, Kinlay Gyaltsen Bhutia, R.N. Shakya and Man Maya Subba," her office said.

The committee also got 10 new general secretaries - Padam Chettri, T.K. Pradhan, S.T. Bhutia, A.S. Subba, C.K. Rai, Gyalpo Tamang, O.P. Bista, Gopal Chettri, Ishwar Prasad Rai and Penzong Lepcha.

S.B. Gurung has been made the treasurer.
