16 killed in Afghan suicide bombing


Kabul, July 8 (IANS): At least 16 people, including four NATO soldiers, were killed and eight injured Tuesday in a suicide bombing attack in Afghanistan's Parwan province, an official said.

"A suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden car close to a health clinic in Qalandar Khel locality of Bagram district at around 7.30 a.m," the official told Xinhua.

The dead are 10 civilians, four Czech NATO soldiers and two Afghan policemen, the official added.

The main US airbase in Afghanistan is located in Parwan's Bagram district where the blast occurred. 

Taliban has claimed responsibility for conducting the attack.
