Nine killed in Kashmir road accident


Jammu, July 8 (IANS): Nine people were killed in a road accident in Kishtwar district of Jammu region Tuesday, police said.

A police officer said that a Tata Sumo taxi went out of control and rolled down into a deep gorge at Sinthan Maidan Tuesday morning killing occupants.

Sinthan Maidan is about 70 km from Kishtwar town.

"The bodies have been recovered from the accident site. Most of the killed are officials of the state sheep husbandry department including the local district chief of the department," a senior police officer told IANS here.
