Somnath Chatterjee will be discharged soon: Doctor

Kolkata, July 8 (IANS): Former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee, who was admitted to a private nursing home after suffering a cerebral stroke, will be discharged soon, a doctor said Tuesday.

"His condition is stable and he is fully conscious. His diet is normal and he will be discharged this week," attending doctor Subir Mondal of the Belle Vue Clinic told IANS.

Chatterjee was admitted to the nursing home in the last week of June after he complained of restlessness. This is the second time in the last six months that the 84-year-old has been hospitalised.
