Hot Wednesday in Delhi, cloudy Thursday expected


New Delhi, July 9 (IANS): It was a hot and humid Wednesday in the national capital with the maximum temperature recorded at 40.5 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average. The Met Office has forecast a cloudy Thursday.

"The skies will remain partly cloudy," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Thursday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 41 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively, the official added.

The minimum temperature Wednesday was recorded two notches above the season's average at 29.6 degrees Celsius, while the humidity wavered between 64 and 37 percent.

Tuesday too was warm and humid with the maximum temperature touching 40.3 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average. The minimum was 28.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the average of the season.
