Mangalore: Five arrested for theft of tin sheets

Mangalore, Jul 10: Relating to a complaint of theft of over 50 tin sheets worth over Rs 54,000 from Bykampady industrial area in the city, the policemen of Panambur station arrested five accused and took into possession a pick-up truck allegedly used for their transportation.

The accused have been identified as Hameed (20) from Kaluvaru Churchgudde, Muhammed Taufeeq (23), Muhammed Safwan (20) and Muhammed Abdul Junaid (23) from Jokatte and Azharuddin (18), a resident of Kalavaru Ashraya Colony. They were arrested when the stolen items were being transported via Kudumbur for selling them.

The Panambur police acting on a tip off had succeeded in arresting the accused with the evidence after intercepting the vehicle in which they were carrying the stolen sheets. 

The operation was conducted under the leadership of inspector Lokesh and orders of assistant commissioner of police Ravi Kumar, by a team comprising police sub-inspector Bharathi, assistant sub-inspectors Yogeesh and Harish as well as several other personnel.
