Rockets fired from Lebanon land in Israel

Beirut, July 11 (IANS): Lebanon Friday fired two rockets into northern Israel, an official said.

The rockets were fired from the outskirts of Lebanon's southern town of Mari in Hasbaya, the official told Xinhua.

The rockets were fired from about 1 km from the Israeli border, the official said.

"The Israeli army retaliated by firing about a dozen artillery shells on the outskirts of Kfarshouba and surrounding areas," the official added.

The Lebanese army and the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) immediately cordoned off the area to search for the suspects behind the attack.
