>Kuwait, Aug 8: With the day of “Korodacho Kurov” celebration fast approaching, and the preparations going ahead fervently, Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) is pleased to announce that Shri Veerappa Moily, Chairman, Administrative Reforms Commission, Govt. of India and the former Chief Minister of the State of Karnataka, will be arriving to Kuwait from New Delhi along with his wife Malathi Moily on a private visit to grace this occasion as the Chief Guest of the most awaited event.
It is a joy for the committee members and the members to celebrate this achievement as a crowning glory of KCWA, by donating over a CRORE of Indian Rupees to the underprivileged towards education and other humanitarian causes. KCWA, the leading association of Mangaloreans in Kuwait, completed 18 glorious years of its existence in community service and supporting primary education for needy children, regardless of any religion or caste.
A fun filled variety entertainment program has been planned to mark the occasion. The highlight of the evening will be performances by well-known composer and singer Mike Simon, who will fly all the way from Mangalore for the show. Mike Simon is a popular figure in Kuwait as his first music album was released while he was a resident of Kuwait before the invasion in 1990.
Leading singers of Kuwait Rony D'Cunha, Joyline, Lolita, Allen, Muriel, Thelma, Cynthia, Rita D'Souza and Jossy D'Cunha will also take part in the show along with Mike Simon. Apart from lively Konkani songs there will be various dance performances from leading dance groups of Kuwait Jovas XLNC for dance, Ocean Kids and other groups. Hilarious jokes and a Konkani comedy skit will also be presented by leading local artists.
A sumptuous Souvenir will also be released to commemorate the day, which in turn will strengthen KCWA to carry out the noble mission of educating more children in future too. KCWA fondly commends and pays vivid tribute to all the members, donors, sponsors, past presidents along with their managing committee members and all well-wishers for their rich contribution towards the noble cause of KCWA, which made it possible to achieve this commendable feat.
