Businessman found murdered by roadside in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, July 17 (IANS): A 40-year-old businessman was Thursday found murdered by a roadside here with parts of his body eaten by stray animals, police said.

Vikas Arora was found murdered near in Sector-14 of Gurgaon.

Arora earlier left his Palam Vihar home Wednesday night to board a bus to Chandigarh.

"He left the house after having dinner around 9:30 p.m. on his scooty to catch a bus for Chandigarh," Arora's sister, who also lives in Palam Vihar, told police.

She added that he was going to Chandigarh to meet his wife, who was there for some important work.

"The scooty of the deceased was found in a parking lot near a bus stand. The parking slip found in the victim's wallet revealed the scooty was parked at 10:10 p.m.," a senior police officer told IANS.

"Arora was hit by a blunt object several times on the back of his head. The body was found in the pool of blood, both ears and a hand was eaten by some stray animals," he said.

His mobile phone, in switched-off mode, was also found near the body.

"Primary investigation showed that loot was not the motive behind the murder," the police officer added.
