CCTV cameras installed in Ghaziabad court

Ghaziabad, July 17 (IANS): The Ghaziabad civil court complex has been equipped with close circuit television (CCTV) cameras, following several assaults on accused people by the public and shootings by rival gangs, officials said Thursday.

District and Sessions judge Anil Kumar Srivastava Thursday inaugurated the cameras installed in many places in the four-storeyed building.

"The camera installation will help keep the court compound sterile of any crime. It will help police keep vigil at the court compound where over 10,000 litigants come to attend court dates daily," said Circle Officer Ranvijay Singh.

"It will help police in manning the court compound without engaging more manpower. It will also help police in solving any crime in the court complex as the cameras would capture the images," he said.
