PIL seeks Vaidik's arrest for meeting Hafiz Saeed

New Delhi, July 18 (IANS): A petition was filed in the Delhi High Court Friday seeking immediate arrest of yoga guru Ramdev's aide Ved Pratap Vaidik for his meeting with Pakistani terrorist group leader Hafiz Saeed.

The public interest litigatio (PIL) sought an investigation into the issue by National Investigation Agency or Intelligence Bureau as it pertains to national security.

The PIL, filed by NGO Gharib Nawaz Foundation, also sought cancellation of Vaidik's passport.

The matter is likely to come up for hearing on Wednesday.

Vaidik had met Saeed, the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind and Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief, in Pakistan's Lahore city July 2.

The petition sought a direction to the central government to frame rules for citizens not to compromise national security while travelling abroad.
