Rajesh Khanna’s bungalow bought by Mangalorean businessman

Mumbai, July 26: Shashi Kiran Shetty, a business tycoon from Bantwal is said to be the new owner of Rajesh Khanna’s famous bungalow ‘Aashirwad’ located in Carter Road. 

According to the reports, the deal was signed recently for whopping Rs 95 crores.

Shashi Kiran Shetty is a business tycoon settled in Mumbai. He is involved in logistics business since many years. Recently he entered the real estate venture and is constructing a super luxury apartment
in his hometown Mangalore.

Shashi Kiran Shetty is a commerce graduate. He came to Mumbai in 1978 after his family’s oil and rice mills closed down. He started working for a shipping agency and later joined another private firm, before
starting his own transport company four years later.

He will be shifting to the iconic house with his wife and two children. He is currently involved with the construction of the ISKCON temple at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai.

Rajesh Khanna, the first superstar of Hindi film industry stayed in this house for many years. He passed away  in the same house. It is great that a Mangalorean will be staying in the iconic hero’s house.

    It should be converted as the Museum of Original Superstar of Indian Cinema as per his last desire.
