Bantwal, Aug 18: A look back at many incidents in the undivided district of Dakshina Kannada in the last couple of months shows it clearly that everything is not right with all the groups coming under the single organization called Sangh Parivar. Especially after Bajrang Dal firebrand leader Pramod Mutalik came out and started Sri Ram Sene, there seems to be competition between the newly-formed organization and the other organizations. This was very evident in Akshata murder case of Puttur where Sri Ram Sene took lead in protest whereas other organizations kept themselves away. Even BJP which was once seen as the staunch supporter of these organizations is gradually distancing itself from them. The gap is widening at a rapid pace and Sri Ram Sene is on roll these days leading protests, attacking restaurants for serving beef etc.
This rivalry between the factions within Sangh Parivar came to fore on Wednesday August 16 at Kalladka during the annual Janmashtami celebrations. The problem started when a tableu of Lord Hanumantha, prepared by Sri Ram Sene was stopped from exhibiting by RSS chief Kalalda Prabhakar Bhat. He took an exception against exhibiting Lord Hanumantha's tableu for Sri Krishna Janmashtami.
This move by Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat enraged Sri Ram Sene local leader Ramappa Poojary. He was involved in a verbal brawl with Prabhakar Bhat. Meanwhile Rukmayya Poojary, former MLA of Vittal intervened and said that Sri Ram Sene does not need a permission of Kallada Prabhakar Bhat to exhibit their tableu. Sri Ram Sene leaders Arun Kumar Puttila, Praveen Walke and others too joined him. The situation grew grim and some of them were soon up in arms.
But immediate intervention by police prevented any further problem. Later the procession and mosaru kudike continued. But Sri Ram Sene tableu was not allowed. Others led by Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat celebrated Janmashtami and broke pots and went home. After they left the place, Sri Ram Sene celebrated mosaru kudike.
This was for the first time that two separate mosaru kudike celebrations were held at the famous Kalladka Sri Krishna Janmashtami programme.
