Mangalore, Aug 20 : The worst fears have come true. Br Loy Fernandes is no more. His dead body  was recovered on
Saturday around 7.45 pm, near Marina Beach, Chennai.

According to the news available, the poilce had collect to get the body. It has also been identified as that of Loy.

The body of Loy was found near Marina Beach around 7.45 pm on Saturday. Marina beach is about 30 minutes' drive from 'Satya Nilayam  Beach' where Br Loy was drowned.

It could be recalled that Br Loy had gone to swim to the sea shore, behind Satya Nilayam (Thiruvanmiyur, Adyar). The beach is 15-20 minutes' walking distance. It was reported that he was drowned at around 6.00 pm, and his body was not found.

The Jesuits at Satya Nilayam, where Loy has been studying philosophy for the last year and a half, had been searching for him. Finally the search came to a tragic end with finding the mortal remains of Br Loy.

It has been decided to have his funeral in Chennai itself. The funeral ceremony will begin with a Holy Mass at Satya Nilayam, at 2.30 pm on Sunday, followed by funeral rites at Loyola College, Chennai.

Fr Vijay Prabhu (Provincial of the Karnataka Jesuits), his secretary and a few other Jesuits are on their way to Chennai to pay the last respect to the departed Brother.
