Chennai, Aug 1 (IANS): Automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Friday reported a fall of 1.4 percent in its sales for July at 48,010 units from 48,704 units in the corresponding month of last year.
However, the company said its domestic sales during the month under review grew by 12.7 percent and stood at 29,260 units - up from 25,965 units sold in the corresponding month of 2013.
The company's exports last month fell by 17.5 percent at 18,750 units - down from 22,739 units shipped out during the corresponding month of last year.
“Hyundai volumes are 29,260 units with growth of 12.7 percent over last year and 13.3 percent cumulative growth with high market share of 23 percent in passenger cars," said Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Hyundai Motor India.
"The demand pull created by the successful product launches and strong channel spread has brought down the discounts and the green shoots of growth are visible with the stabilization of macro-economic factors and near to average monsoons.”
