Beltangady, Aug 26: Teachers are the ones who lay a strong foundation in a child's life, but if the teacher herself has an erratic behaviour, how can she be expected to teach the child?

In a shocking incident at Mudoor near here, a headmistress of a school has been reportedly coming drunk to school. Not only that, reports even state that she has been asking children to fetch arrack by paying them some money.

At a taluk panchayat meet held recently, TP member Sunita Bhat said that because of the teacher's condemnable habit, the strength of students has come down from 75 to 35 as parents are hesitant to send their children to school.

TP members Uppadka Prabhakar Shetty, Keshav Bangera and Mahabala Gowda have demanded the suspension of the teacher from service. BEO B Manjula has given assurance of action in this regard.
