Panaji, Aug 26: With Ganesh Chaturthi just hours away, Goan bazars are going fully loaded with various Chaturthi-related items.
What stand out are the 'Matoli--related items. Matoli is nothing but a collective name given to different fruits, vegetables and flowers which used and tied above the Ganesh idols and kept until they are immersed in the river or lakes.
The fruits, vegetables and flowwes used for Matoli are basically of wild nature and normally collected from the forests. Along with the Matoli items, normal fruits, flowers and vegetables are also used.
Harne, Kanglan, Kaatro etc. are some of the Matoli items which are essentially collected from forests.
