Mangalore, Aug 28: With a total of 35 entries at the preliminary round of the Konkani antakshari programme "Yaad", the event was a grand success. On Sunday, Aug 27 the selection process for the main rounds were held in the first phase at Sandesha Foundation. 

The programme was inaugurated by director of Sandesha Fr Francis Lewis. On the dais were singer Edith Pinto, musician and sound engineer Ashith Pinto and music director Joel Pereira. 

The programme organized by "Konkani Sangeet Mogi" and will be telecast live on Namma TV from Saturday Sep 30 at 9 pm. 

The participants at the prelims were to follow strict guidelines. Only Konkani songs from Konkani music albums were permitted to be sung at the competition.

The programme which was conducted in a very professional manner had an overwhelming response.
Guitarist Rajgopal provided accompaniment music, while the entire event was compered by Arun Danti.

Results will be announced on August 28, 2006.
