'Jigarthanda' likely to have Bollywood remake


Chennai, Aug 11 (IANS): Actor Siddharth-starrer Tamil musical gangster film "Jigarthanda", which has the critics as well as the audience raving, is likely to be remade in Hindi soon.

The film's producer says Bollywood producers have expressed interest in the remake.

"I have received calls from a few Bollywood producers who have expressed interest in remaking the film in Hindi, but nothing has been finalised. I can't reveal more until anything goes on paper," the film's producer Kathiresan told IANS.

Also starring Simhaa and Lakshmi Menon, "Jigarthanda" is the story of an aspiring filmmaker who closely follows a real gangster to make a gangster film.

The Karthik Subbaraj-directed film, which released Aug 1 after months of delay, has raked in over Rs. 10 crore at the Tamil Nadu box office so far.
