'Happy New Year' to release on Oct 24

Mumbai, Aug 12: It seems Shah Rukh Khan wants his upcoming film 'Happy New Year' to break 'Dhoom 3's opening day records. HNY was initially expected to release on October 23 which falls on Diwali day. SRK has postponed the release date to October 24.

Lakshmi Puja falls on October 23. Many Hindus will not step out of the house to watch the film that day, which will make a dent in opening day collections. SRK is very confident of the film and wants the film to break all the records.

The film will be released on October 24 which is a public holiday. HNY is expected to easily make Rs 40 crores on that day.

The movie is directed by SRK's close friend Farah Khan and produced by his wife Gauri Khan.
