Mangalore: Lourdes Central School hosts throwball tournament

Mangalore, Aug 22: Inter-school AICS Throwball Tournament-2014 was organized by Lourdes Central School at their premises, Bijai here on Friday August 22.

Mabel Victoria Menezes, national level throwball player inaugurated the tournament. She also inaugurated the court by playing with the referees.

Vishwanath Devadiga, convener introduced the team managers of various schools to Mabel. 18 teams from various districts were present for the tournament.

In her inaugural speech she thanked the school management for inviting her to the tournament and also told the students to use all the strength in the game.

Nirmal D'Souza, vice president of Bijai parish council, in his presidential speech said, "We need to understand that everyday is an opportunity, we can build on yesterday's success. If you dream big, you can achieve big. You cannot win unless you lose."

Vice principal of Lourdes Central School, Benita Mascarenhas welcomed the guests.

Virendra Alva, physical education teacher proposed the vote of thanks.
